Fools Spring came and went, and on a colder than expected Tuesday evening 14 GoodGymmers made their way to the BMECP centre - ready to help them keep their communal spaces clean and tidy.
After a tour of the building, we split into groups and got working. Our tasks for the evening included cleaning the kitchens, sorting cupboards, tidying away second hand books (some of which were over 100 years old...!) stacking tables and chairs, and wiping down whiteboards.
Once again, we proved that many hands make light work, and once our job was done a few of us made our way to The Lord Nelson for a post-mission pint and quiz. Turns out we're not just great at cleaning, we're also pretty good at naming popular ice-creams* - earning us 1st place!!
*The question for anyone wondering was what are the 5 most popular flavours of icecream in the UK after Vanilla, Chocolate and Strawberry? Answers on a postcard please.....

Thirteen GoodGymmers came out in force to help keep a community kitchen clean and tidy.
Eight of us ran 2km from our meeting point at the Old Stein, braving the long climb up Ditchling road to meet the rest of the group at our new task venue - One Church on Florence Road. One Church is a faith based community in Brighton that also runs various projects and initiatives that helps to bring the community together.
One such project is the Florence Road Cafe - a well used space to relax, work or meet other people. And we were tasked with giving their kitchen a good clean and tidy up! From clearing and cleaning the fridges, to pulling out ovens to clean them inside and out, to sorting pots and pans to make them easier to access. This really was an example of many hands making light work, as we worked our way through the long list of jobs in just 45minutes.
As a notice on the fridge said: "the first rule of the kitchen fairy, is there is no kitchen fairy; the kitchen is only cleaned by volunteers" And our amazing group of GoodGymmers certainly did a good job of being kitchen fairies this week.
WHAT's ON NEXT at GoodGym Brighton?
Plenty to amuse you to join us soon.
EVERYBODY is welcome!

On a deceptively chilly Sunday morning, 8 goodgymmers gathered at Hove Park cafe to embark on our monthly trail run. This month we headed up into the Downs north of Hove, making our way up through a muddy three cornered copse, braving the Dyke Road roundabout, and emerging at the top of Waterhall nature reserve - where we were greeted by the sight of some beautiful galloping horses. Thankfully the horses didnt follow us as we made our way up towards Devils Dyke, before turning back and looping round past Hove Golf Club, across the A27 and back into Hove.
After picking up newcomer Helen on route, we returned to Hove Park cafe to enjoy some warm drinks and food - refuelling after an invigorating run. An egg-cellent time had by all!
