A wonderful way to start 2025 was meeting our awesome Lambeth GGers and heading out for the first group session of the year.
It was a triple celebration session and so with the blessing of the group I will keep the run report mercifully brief and cut the waffle so here we go:
Quote of the evening from Daniel on his 2nd ever session "There is only upside to this GoodGym thing!"
We ended the eve with some sweet treats as well.
Much love to everyone, on with the January Challenge and I look forward to seeing you next time!

It's the most wonderful time.... of the year! Last night was a lovely GG session (as ever tbh) with a good sized group and lots of folks sharing their various positive life experiences - it was enough to uplift the whole group to smash the task in record time.
Most of the group met at Papa's before setting off on the short run down to Swan Mews to meet with Mohah and our resident cyclists Marie-Noelle and Paul.
We had a triple task to finish off the work at the mews - rubbish clearance, compost shifting and a bit of digging so we split into three groups and set about the different tasks. The hive of activity was even enough to bring out the local residents who were taking note of how much better the gardens were now looking - I mean in all honesty how often do you need a full clothes rail on coasters in a planting garden......??
By just before the hour we were all done but had to solve a South London mystery, the fawcett for the gardens was turned on (over by the bins) but no water was coming out, what could be causing that? A quick bit of detective work found that a section of the hose pipe had been unscrewed and (presumably) nicked by someone for their own use meaning the water was pouring out into the pavement area.
With that now solved we could wash our hands and prepare for Ben's baking and even though it wasn't cookies which would have helped with the puns, the group was treated to both blondies and brownies and I can say they were absolutely delicious (warm, thick and gluten free!)
As we all set off that just left a reminder to join us for the GG Lambeth End of Year / Xmas party next week after our task - you can sign up here.
Thanks all!

With the weather being so awful the past few days, it was more important than ever that clothes, bedding and other resources are accessed by those who need them most.
Every month Groad (Get Rid of and Donate) drive into central London with a van stuffed full of good stuff to hand out to rough sleepers.
Last night a group of GoodGymers came to lend a hand so that as many people got their hands on some warm things as possible. Great job everybody!
Next week we need as much help as possible with a huge job at the oldest youth club in the world - hope to see you there!

Last night we had a bumper group of GoodGymers (perhaps enticed out by the promise of baking?) and we were heading over to Jubilee Primary School to clear their planting garden.
First up let's welcome two new and new-ish GGers to the Lambeth group - Laura and Rose it was lovely to have you with us - and a warm welcome back to Paul who had been away for a while but brought Laura and Rose with him!
We also had Claire (?!)... sorry Charlotte back with us after a while out with injury and travels and to top off the returnees Task Force hero Nathan was back as well, welcome back guys.
Our team was rounded out by Ben fresh off his Community Mission heroics on Sunday, Michael and of course Fi who was down to bake this evening after her baker left Bake off - baking hell that's awesome!
It's a flat and fast run to JPS and we made great time so had plenty to get through all the weeding and leaf clearance in preparation for the planting garden to be used by the children to develop their green fingers.
By 8pm we had gathered 8 black bags full of garden waste and litter and deposited them into the bins (see before and after pic). Nice work team.
Then came the big moment, time to try Fi's brownies and I can report that they didn't disappoint, they were delicious!
Big thanks to everyone and see you all next time :0)
