Lambeth Report written by Emma
Today, I had a great time helping the lovely Friends of Windmill Gardens prepare for the family-friendly Brixton Windmill Halloween event. Together in the rain, we set up the outdoor carving area, wheeling pumpkins around, and lopping off pumpkin tops. I also had go at carving my ownโhis name is Good Jimmy!

Lambeth Report written by Nathan Wood
It was a wet Saturday morning. I confirmed with Tom that we'd meet despite the rain. Hardy ๐ช
On this session I was joined by Emma who made her return to Goodgym - mission 2 in the bag ๐
The two of us and a few other of the Nature Garden volunteers worked at weeding an area if the park. We cleared brambles and bindweed which had taken over over summer. Clearing the growth we managed to find a newt - which confirms there is still pond life around!
We've made an impact over the last few weeks and the Gardens are looking transformed in the areas weve touched.
Join us next week ๐

Emma earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Emma completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Emma was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

Southwark Report written by Sam Lefevre (he/him)
On a sunny Saturday, seven dedicated GoodGymers gathered at Thorlands Gardens in Camberwell to contribute their time and effort to enhance the community's green spaces. They welcomed Emma who came for her first session and claiming her first good deed! Well done Emma!
The main focus of the session involved tackling the persistent issue of invasive bindweed in the Kitchen Garden. Emma, Johnny (who came over from Tower Hamlets), Jo and Sam worked diligently to dig up the invasive bindweed to ensure they could stay on top and maintain a healthy and flourishing Kitchen garden meant for the growth of herbs.
In addition to the removal of bindweeed, Alex, Lindy and Maria took on the task of transporting woodchip mulch and logs to the Forest Garden. This proactive preparation was made in anticipation of Wednesday night's group run. In total, they managed to complete 10 trips, equivalent to 20 wheelbarrow loads of woodchip mulch and logs.
Their collective efforts within the hour and a half between the seven GoodGymers showcased a strong commitment to fostering a beautiful and sustainable environment within Thorlands Gardens. Well done team!
