Sofa so good

Bristol Report written by Melanie Young (she/her)

Another dry January evening welcomed over 20 GoodGymmers for the biggest group run for a while, including Mike joining us for the first time and all three of last week's newcomers returned!

It was optional fancy dress for the run, see who you can spot in the photos, but considered very normal in Bristol.

Xanne welcomed us to Emmaus with news that they're currently van-less so there was space to move and to move things, very excitingly.

Let the sofa-shifting, mattress-moving and bed-breaking commence!

Huge progress was made although headgear was hard to come by, so the end photo shows more variation of item than usual, if it can ever be considered usual?

Another run back and some stretching and chatting - it almost felt normal.

Rerun Redcliffe

Bristol Report written by Melanie Young (she/her)

You know a Group Run is going to go well when a bird poos on you during the registration and welcome phase!

That was three brand new GoodGymmers first experience of Bristol GoodGym but they stayed! Welcome Jono, Nicoleta and Jake.

Alice lead a pretty much circular run to Redcliffe whilst the walkers took the short route and carried the litter picking kit and light.

It's one of those places you can approach and disperse from in all directions so there were soon red T-shirts (often hidden under more layers) darting about tidying the communal spaces around the focal point of Somerset Square (that’s not a square).

So much rubbish collected, and so quickly, that there was time to warm back up with a run or walk to Queens Square and some bingo-busting galloping plus stretching, more chatting and NO MORE BIRD POO!
