It was one of regular GoodGym gigs tonight, looking after the Memorial Garden in Ravensknowle Park. Ann Denham from the Friends of Ravensknowle Park was there to dispense tools and advice on what needed weeding and what needed leaving.
Whilst Ben Godfrey got busy taking out an aged Rosemary bush, David Bilton, Kati Law, Louise Galvin, Louise Olverson found plenty of other weeding tidying tasks to do. Before we knew it darkness was descending and we cleared the tools away, leaving just enough time for a socially distanced coffee by the bowling green.

It was a first try out for the brand new GoodGym Huddersfield litter pickers tonight.....and very impressive they were too. Equally impressive were the seven GoodGymmers keen to clear the accumulated litter and other rubbish from the Town Estate playing field. Whilst we didn't get the job entirely finished (there was an awful lot of litter), we made a big dent in it and we'll return in a couple of weeks to complete the task.
Thanks to tonights top pickers, Kati Law, Louise Galvin, David Bilton, Wendy Redmile, Thom Wood and Louise Olverson.

Louise Olverson earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Louise completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Louise was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

This week we were at Scammonden Water as advertised. The weather was not as forecast but we soldiered on. Four people took part in the task. We were; myself, Kati Law, David Bilton and first-timer Louise. We met at the car park and set off along Sledgate. It was nearly back to the good old days of Goodgym as we ran together to get to the first location for the task. Over the fence into the field of trees, Colne Valley Tree Society had left a collection of trash guards bagged up and ready for the runners. It was a case of getting past the trees with the said guards to the skip collection spot at the bottom of the hill. There was the wet grass and uneven ground to contend with but no complaints, just interested talk. And three journeys together to three differing locations and back, our time was up. Thanks to all tonight's participants for their efforts in getting the job done. (John, that includes you.)
