31 Goodgymers ran 5km and cleared five HUGE bags of leaves and debris for Coram Fields
Welcome to newbies - Marina, Zura, Isobel and Susann
In the news this week:
After doing an amazing photo with the 100,000 good deeds banner we warmed up and headed to Coram Fields - a new task! This is a fantastic charity which provides space for children to play and has activities for everyone in the community. It's a seven acre site, with a little farm, a wildlife area and football pitches - lots of space for us to do good.
We split into two teams, one led by Frances which cleared bark, debris and leaves from the Wildlife Reserve. Working hard they watched out for the bee's before heading out to help to sweep some more leaves.
Do bee's eat honey?
Meanwhile a team of 16, overseen by John from Coram Fields, weeded and cleared leaves in an area before turning over the soil with forks and removing any roots in the hardened soil. This will be used for planting some lovely flowers.
After 35 minutes of hard work we'd accumulated five huge bags of waste to be recycled - nice! We took a group photo and headed to Russell Square led by Saul, he out us through our paces - with everyone getting a good workout in.
Thanks for coming guys, lovely evening as always. I'm away for the next couple of weeks, Pritesh will be leading you when you'll be helping Cecil Sharp House and Castlehaven - sign up here

23 Goodgymers ran 5km and helped the Single Homeless Project move four tonnes of woodchip/mulch
Welcome along to Tom, Kate and Liam whose first time it was last night - lovely to have you along!
In the news this week:
After our intros and warm up we headed north-east over Highbury Fields and via Highbury Barn to the Single Homeless Project Hostel on Highbury New Park Road. This fantastic charity helps provide housing, support and services to homeless people. Our task this week was to move four tonnes of a woodchip and mulch cocktail from outside the house into the garden.
Armed with four shovels, two wheelbarrows and four bags an orderly cycle began - as tonnes of the stuff headed into the garden Frances pointed out where to empty it - the first focus was trees, bushes and then plants. A team of four spread the mulch around the trees etc as it came in.
More mulch please!
The size of the mulch pile was communicated in car model - from Maruti (Mulch) Suzuki, in Mini, to Jeremy Clarkson tiny car! Good comms guys. Meanwhile the rest of the team weeded, cut back overgrowth and swept up. Good work!
Over 30 minutes we made a huge difference to our Islington community - awesome sauce! Before leaving we took a super cool football serious photo :)
On our way home we did a 1km time trial around Highbury Fields - everyone was fast and furious!
I'm away for the next two weeks, next week Steve Lee will be in charge and the week after Graham - look after them.
