Well Autumn has definitely arrived. Golden leaves, fresh evening temperatures, autumnal breezes and darker nights were definitely here. 14 GoodGym Coventry runners headed out to the canal for a litter pick. The paths and banks felt definitely like they were being looked after by the users :) A lot of metal was collected from the bank and bottles and wrappers from the paths and nearby water's edge. There was a lovely team feel tonight and it was great to see such camaraderie and chatter as everyone set to the task. This continued as we they set too on our hill reps by the cathedral. Every runner focused on form and trying to beat their distance and fellow runners on the hill reps. The canal was also being used tonight by some kayaks which was lovely to see. Have a great week all and see you next week. Liz x

12 GoodGym Coventry runners supported Queens Road Baptist Church with tidying, weeding and sweeping their car park. The Church run one of the busiest food banks in the city as well as host a variety of charities ranging from supporting families and affected by Alzheimers, Relate and baby groups.
We worked really hard to tidy up some of the flower beds to trim back the lavender, de-ivy the wall and weed the car park. We were then spoilt with tea, coffee and cake- Thank you so much.
As the church is very close to town, we took a scenic route back around the outside of the ring road- all the sights, no expense spared :) We finished with some strength building reps by the Lady Godiva statue :) Have a great week, Liz x Next week, litter picking on the canal. Don't forget your torch.

Well as the Autumn leaves are falling as well as the raindrops, 15 GoodGym Coventry memebers ran to Spencer Park to help clear up the leaves on the paths and tennis courts. It was great to meet Meg and we were all relieved that the rain had finally stopped for our session. We headed to Spencer Park, which is currently very gold, not only with the Autumn leaves but also decorated to support Childhood Cancer Awareness month. The tennis courts and much of the paths were covered in layers of leaf litter so we set to work clearing the paths and soon the leaves were all safely deposited in the green bins. As it is winter, our 1 mile route was too dark so we completed some timed reps along the lit paths. With some very impressive and competitive efforts, well done all. Soon, it was time to stretch and head back. Looking forward to seeing you all next weel, Liz x
