Thankfully today is the last day of what has been a pretty tough January. Luckily we’ve had lots of deliveries to do for the Little Edi Foundation, making Sunday evenings worthwhile and giving us a chance to leave the house during what feels like the longest lockdown yet.
Today we welcomed Vanisha for her first GoodGym session. A bit different to our usual sort of thing, there was no running for a start, but I hope you enjoyed it and hope to see you again in the near future. We also welcomed back Pam and Caroline. Thankfully we didn’t have long to wait this week in the drizzly cold as the Tesco gates opened and we were presented with a few pallets filled mainly with bread and quite a few doughnuts. We packed about 10 bags worth of food and thought we were done and ready to go when Tesco’s then bought out a few extras; some ready meals and muffins to add to our bags.
Bags packed, Vicky from the Little Edi Foundation gave Vanisha, Caroline and Pam their drop off destinations and off they went, delivering the food parcels to families around Chelmsford. Well done everyone. Here’s to February and slightly lighter evenings!!

The falling snow didn’t stop 5 GoodGym runners from getting outdoors and meeting up for our regular food parcel delivery from Tescos late on a cold Sunday afternoon. Thankfully by the time we got to the task the snow had pretty much stopped and hadn’t settled. It was great to see Lindsay back for her second task and Pam was back for her second week in a row, along with regulars David and Laurie. We met up with Celia from the Little Edi Foundation and waited patiently to see what goodies Tesco might be giving us this week.
Now we never know how much or what we will be given, other than bread which seems to be guaranteed. But even so, I don’t think any of us were expecting the Aladdin’s cave we were presented with. Tescos were clearly having a bit of a clear out of stock and we were given board games, colouring pens and books, suncream, nappies, toys and plenty of soap among many other strange and wonderful finds such as Pyrex dishes, electric toothbrushes, engine oil, batteries, cushions and protein powder along with the usual perishable food items such as bread and sandwiches.
We packed up 12 bags which we delivered promptly to families in need around Chelmsford and also helped get some of the stranger, less perishable items to the charities base to be distributed at another time.
Great work everyone; hopefully see you all again shortly!

Great to join again this week! An Aladdin's cave is a very accurate description of the bounty of stuff from Tesco's yesterday. See you all again soon x

I take it they didn't take all of the synthetic engine oil?

For what is now our usual Sunday afternoon task with the Little Edi Foundation we welcomed Lindsay for her very first GoodGym session. I hope you enjoyed it Lindsay and look forward to seeing you at further sessions in the future!!
Pam was back for her second task with us and Rachel and Isabelle clearly enjoyed last week so much they were back for the second week on the trot!!
It’s fair to say there wasn’t as much food this week as there has been recently but after waiting for a little while and having a little chin wag the Tesco gates opened and lots of bread was given to us (hence the pun….. I’m sorry).
Everyone managed to get one bag packed and delivered to a family in need in Chelmsford. Well done everyone!! Hopefully there will be a bit more food next week so we can make a few more deliveries.
As a nice little send off, if you pop into the Tesco’s you can now find a lovely poster featuring some familiar faces from last week’s task by the exit!! Local celebrities indeed!!
