6 super GoodGymers came out last night for some lifting, shifting and switching to make the Greener & Cleaner Community Hub store room a much more logical and tidy space.
Tamasin from the Hub even provided some delicious warm apple juice to sweeten the deed.
Nice work, team 👍

Bromley Report written by Mark Gilyead (he/him)
For our second Tuesday evening Bromley sesh (🥳) we were at Southlands Road Allotments. Local sustainability charity Greener and Cleaner have inherited a space which they're turning into a community garden. There's a few fruit trees, a shed of sorts, a compost and not much else. The plan is to turn it into a thriving growing space where the local community can learn to grow and eat fresh fruit and veg! 🥕
Can you dig it?
Job one was digging a hole for a massive metal container. It's going to become an accessible growing bed but first needed cementing in place.
Gettin' twiggy with it
Meanwhile we needed to transfer loads of the twigs and branches from the top of the compost heap into the metal container. These will have compost added and then rot down.
Bottling it
Whilst this was happening, Jo and Clare were cutting up huge plastic bottles into a specific shape so that they can become strawberry pots!
Nailing it
The majority of the materials used for the community garden are repurposed and upcycled. Stephen was removing nails from some pallet wood using a hammer.
Cracking job team! 👍 Thanks for sharing your favourite veg and your energy to get this community green space up and running 💪 Special shoutout to Jo who attended her first GG sesh! Welcome to the gang.

Robert Auger has done their first good deed with GoodGym.
Robert is a now a fully fledged GoodGym runner. They've just run to do good for the first time. They are out there making amazing things happen and getting fit at the same time.

Robert Auger earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Robert completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Robert was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

Possibly the last (?) hot day of the year was also time for Pengefest - a small food and beer festival to fundraise for St Christopher's Hospice. GoodGym offered to help set up the stalls in front of the Blenheim Centre (RIP Wilko) in Penge so that the event could start on time and the ale lovers weren't kept waiting.
The team was a nice mix of Group Run regulars, Community Mission pros, and a brand new face - Robert. Welcome!
First task was unloading everything into Empire Square. We got the BBQ out, tables and chairs, and even hay bales! Bromley GoodGym are now experts at gazebo construction, so when those were ready to go up it didn't take us long. The gazebos even had wheels to get them into position fast 🛞
Finally we headed over to The Goldsmiths pub nearby to borrow some pub benches for the crowds to sit on. Mark and Stephen already had history with these big pieces of timber, but with more hands this time (and less incline to the destination!) we got them moved into the square to complete the setup.
We celebrated our work with a group photo 📷 in the square before heading off to enjoy the weekend.
Well done everyone 🙌
