Tonight 16 GoodGymers ran or cycled to support East Anglia Children's Hospice in Plumstead Road.
We had extra lights and visibility while running to the task, as we were supporting This Girl Can's campaign #LetsLiftTheCurfew to raise awareness of womens safety exercising outdoors in the darker months.
At the store we were given plenty of tasks, cleaning shelves, taking down window displays, sorting out books / furniture and breaking down boxes. It was also a chance to hunt for some bargains when sorting through donations!
Hi Five to Maddy for reaching her 100th Good Deed!! In her words she 'joined GoodGym so she didn't have to run in the dark in winter on her own' - and that is why we are here!
Thanks everyone for making this community a safe and supportive place for all.

We celebrated the life of our dear Catton Parkrun family member Melissa Baker who last her battle with Cancer a few months ago. 374 people turned out on a rainy, cool morning to honour her memory with her daughter & her partner.

What a lovely way to celebrate Melissa’s life, and to demonstrate how much you valued her. I hope her family found comfort in celebrating her memory with her GG family 🙏🏼

Today at Catton Parkrun we were remembering a regular runner/volunteer Anne-Marie on what would have been her 68th birthday. Her family asked us to celebrate her life by wearing pink or red, & wear her memorial sticker. Also present were fund raisers from our local Hospice, Priscilla Bacon Lodge where Anne-Marie spend her last weeks being cared for by them. 455 people turned up today, plenty of tourists including from Bushy Park (our birthplace) and 3 first timers. Due to ongoing groundwork’s around our usual finish line, our core team worked tirelessly to workout a new finish. They only found out last evening, but did a fantastic job, it worked well until a mini disaster when the finish tokens were dropped & for a short while there was a funnel build up. In true Catton spirit, the RD & volunteers rallied round & normal service was resumed. As Timekeepers we had to adapt our finish line slightly but all went well & we managed to stay in sync. Anne-Marie family attending today were overwhelmed with the turnout & lots of money was raised in her memory & for her chosen charity. Happy heavenly birthday Anne-Marie
