4 goodgymers (Amy, Sofeen, Louise and Olivier) helped out at the Stirchley Community market over the day!
Amy helped set up the market in the morning and helped throughout the day.
Sofeen gave the car park a good litter pick and then enjoyed the market!
Louise brought along her son to enjoy the community market fun.
Olivier came just as the torrential rain started for the busy end part of putting everything away and helped with taking down bunting, putting tables and chairs away before giving the hall a good old brush leaving it cleaner than before!
Thanks to everyone who came - any help is much appreciated!

4 good gym runners helped move bricks from the front to the back of the building at Dads Lane Community Centre in order to help complete a level paving area to be completed in the garden for wheelchair users.
We welcomed Megan who was a first time good gymer and enjoyed refreshments in some September evening sun whilst taking a mid way break.
Big thanks to Steve at Dads Lane Community Centre.

We were at Dads Lane this evening for a big brick move. Steve got on a great playlist which included Livin On A Prayer...the lyrics We're Half Way There felt apt as it felt like we were half way there for ageees. Eventually however we managed to move three big piles of bricks! Rachel was a machine moving bricks and also getting involved organising them with Liam. Sofeen was a welcome late edition getting stuck in too with loads of moving.
Kate from Ampersand projects needed the space for her forest school activity over summer and despite running a full day of sessions tomorrow also got stuck in with the brick move.
A very successful start to the week! Thanks everyone!

Tonight 4 GoodGymers got doing some tree clipping and carrying bags back to the other side of the Jewellery Quarter cemetry.
James and Jonny got clipping, with being the tallest. The idea being to clip the trees back enough so to clear the path for people to walk past, hence a barber's favourite a short, back and sides!
Eve and Sofeen bagged up the branches before taking them to be composted.
After we were done James and Jonny headed for a 3k run, whilst our walkers headed back with Josie, Eve looking after her legs after going 'hell for leather' at a cycling time trial last night!
Thanks to those who came along we'll be back helping out Josie next month :)

6 goodgymers (Amy, Christina, Sofeen, Ramiz, Morwenna and Iain) joined the friendly team at Dads Lane once again for a “sort out your life” style mission! We welcomed Christina to her first GoodGym mission as well!
We started by clearing an unsafe area of the garden consisting of planks of wood, bricks and general rubbish. We then levelled off this area with some shovelling and raking and weeding the area so we could lay flat paving stones and pallets.
We then formed a human brick chain passing the bricks from the old position to the new - switching every layer so each person moved up the chain! We made sure to turn every so often to even out those standing twist movements!
After a well deserved coffee and biscuit break we went back out and finished putting anything useful back on the pallets in a neat and orderly fashion.
The rest was organised in a pile for Steve to take to the tip. A massive difference was made and a good workout was had! The garden area is now safer for residents and children to play in.

Tonight's task was to help out at the lovely charity The Friends of the Earth.
The runners were Jonny, James and Rachel, with the walkers Miriam, Amy and Sofeen joining us at the task.
We were welcomed by a nice sign on the door before Karen gave us our tasks to do. It was a nice mix, with Jonny doing some vacuuming, Miriam and Amy painting and then James, Rachel and Sofeen did the outdoors stuff, which was sweeping, tidying and litter picking.
We spent a good half an hour or so and got plenty done, Miriam taking plenty of pictures.
Once done the walkers headed off and the runners ran the 2k back to 1000 Trades, making it a nice 4k run in total :)

On a rainy Tuesday evening we met at Dad's Lane for some brick moving! Amy was first to arrive, then Laura had run up (completing an impressive 4 miles!), and we all got stuck in , moving bricks from one pile in the front to the back garden. This is so that contractors can make a start on the paving (exciting!). Sofeen arrived shortly afterwards as a surprise addition to the crew, this was welcomed by all as it sped up the work as we implemented a rally with wheelbarrowers and stackers and tidyers. All this in the rain! Great work all!
Afterwards it was time for a hot drink in the warm and welcoming community centre that many Brum GoodGymers have helped to make into the space it is today.
