Welcome to Sandy and Katie, who joined us for their very first GoodGym runs this evening!
After a quick headcount and a run through of everyone's favourite food (Dan's mixed grill seemed to garner the most murmurs of approval) we warmed up and made our way down to the river. We had a lovely short, flat run to St. John's Court, where our host, Chris, was waiting to greet us.
St. John's Court are in the middle of an upgrade to their outdoor area in order to make it a safer and more pleasant space for their residents. This evening we were tasked with giving the outdoor furniture a new lease of life with some sanding and painting. There were plenty of chairs, tables and paintbrushes for everyone to get stuck straight in. Chris kindly provided squash for everyone - what a treat!
The chairs and tables looked so great when we were done that some of the residents came out to thank us for our hard work. But our work doesn't stop here! Join us again next week when we'll be going back to do a second coat.
Given the short run and cooler evening air, we took the opportunity to do some fitness exercises in the beautiful Sydney Gardens on our way back to the ranch.
Thank you everyone for your amazing painting efforts tonight, and to Mary for some stellar back-marking!

Thunderbolt and lightning, Very, very frightening me. (Galileo) Galileo. (Galileo) Galileo, 12 runners took a 5k stride with meee!! to Bath City Farm Ewe see not kidding me. we won't mention the latecomer wearing a back to front t shirt.
LITTERALLY
Open your eyes, Look up to the skies and see, we're just a poor kids, we need no sympathy, because we're easy come, easy go, little high, little low, GOODGYM!! Any way the wind blows doesn't really matter to me, to me.
We worked so hard picking up litter petting the kids was just a necessity, you see, you see.
sweat was pouring off them see
Well if you believe that you'd believe anything but today was sheer joy down on the farm from the crazy kids to a new delivery of pigs via UPS.
First off meet the little ones before
making a start on the litter pick, distracted? oh yes, like a group on a school outing but who cares its all therapy and the job got done and how could we neglect their attention.
Ain't no Goodgymer high enough
We finally moved on through the woodland trail picking up litter and seeing just how many of us could get in the air raid shelter before assuming combat position in the meadow continuing our litter search.
Doughnut, what your talking about
Okay, so we enjoyed a doughnut for our hard efforts before the flash mob made a last ditch attempt to salvage a tree limb from the bottom field will full support from everyone else who kept a watchful eye to make sure they did a proper job whilst quality checking the jam in the middle.
A humid climb back to Odd Down for some cool drinks and a masterclass in perfecting the rolypoly, Paul seemed stuck on doing a headstand though.
THANKS TO BRIZZLE CREW FOR JOINING BATH TODAY, I'm sure it was me they came to see and not the cute kids.
Thanks to Alison for back marking and todays pun.

FOUR FABULOUS LADIES IN BATH gave up their Sunday morning lay in to go for a 2k run to paint the gates that we prepared earlier last month for St Marks community centre in Widcombe
WELCOME TO GRACE... HIP HIP!!
Grace was joining us this morning for her first taste of Goodgym Bath and what a thoroughly good time she had and she did an amazing job.
The short run today was a good thing as we wanted to get as much as possible done today so we can complete the job on Tuesday evenings group run.
Alex was ready
and waiting for us on arrival with absolutely everything needed for the job. Sarah and Grace took the gate to the left whilst Mary and Steph joined in with the right side. Alex was even given a pass to come and help us although he did confess to hating painting so not sure if he was feeling the same GOOD LOVE as us girls.
CHIT CHAT AWAY
Some great conversations around childbirth and getting old which seemed appropriate in the graveyard but i am sure Alex was amused by our chit chat.
FOR THEY ATE JOLLY GOOD FELLOWS
A resident came over to thank us for the amazing work and two ladies we looking in adoration from across the street.
180 minutes later and almost done it was time to pack up and say our goodbyes until Tuesday before taking the short run back along the riverside, where we spotted even more railing that could do with a lick of paint.
Thank you to MARY for back marking and todays pun.
WELL DONE LADIES!!!

SUNDAY FUNDAY GROUP RUN
A fabulous Six ran 4k to Lyncombe vale allotments to cut back a hedge of over hanging willow to allow the young apple trees to flourish in the coming season
Welcome to Debs from Brizzle
Mark was stake master today in charge of removing the old canes and protective wire with the help of Debs and Alison and driving in new more sturdy stakes with Steph's help.
Mary and Sarah were in charge if sawing and lopping through the willow to open up the sky to the wee apple trees to give them a chance to grow. Sarah our resident doctor learned a new saw skill and discussed a green stick fracture but lets hope she doesn't start amputating any limbs.
WE WORKED OUR MAGIC FOR AN HOUR
We even made a video before heading back downhill to the leisure centre to enjoy a giid old stretch out and chat about what fun we had today.
January challenge just became more achievable for GOODGYM but lets have everyone signed up for Tuesday nights run to a new location.
Thanks to Ben from Cardiff for todays pun and lovely Mary for back marking again.
