well done for litter picking in the month of January!
Rwanda has an innovative approach to keeping the streets clean. On one Saturday morning every month, shops, bars and restaurants all close, and people are only allowed to leave their homes to clear up litter. Those who donโt help can be stopped in the street by police and made to start cleaning on the spot. (Rory Stewart, The Rest is Politics)

Today Sabina, Karen, Helen, Lee and Liz met for a short warm-up. Sabina then led the way to Clitterhouse Farm.
When we arrived Valentina, Kat and Danny had already started chipping in by weeding the flower beds. Sabina joined this team.
Becka, Helen, Karen, Lee and Liz were quick to chip in too by moving the wood chippings with spades and a wheelbarrow. The chippings were moved to areas which easily become water logged to soak up the extra water.
The time flew by and it was soon time to chip in with the tidying up and then to return to base to eat chips!

Brent Report written by Tabitha Skinner
It was great to meet in the daylight on Monday when five of us met at Papagayo ready for our run and task. We started with a great cheer for Helen who had successfully completed a the London Landmarks half marathon in less than two hours...on her birthday! Congratulations Helen! Despite the wobbly legs, she joined Pete, Lee , Samina and I for a warm up and a 3k run to Clittehouse Farm.
There was lots to do at Clitterhouse, and luckily for us Valentina, Kat and Rebecca met us at there. Valentina and Kat were planting pumpkin and white flower seeds, ready for Spring. I cleared a wall of weeds , in preparation for turning it into a lettuce wall. Pete, Helen Rebecca and Samina got to work weeding flowerbeds, the compost that had been used had lots of small weeds poking out that needed pulling out. We worked quickly as it started to get dark so it was a race against the clock. We managed to finish just before dark, cleared up, smiled for a team photo or two and headed back. All those who made it all the way to Papagayo were rewarded with Cake, Chips and Drinks . Great work everyone, see you all soon!
