This evening we had the pleasure of welcoming Vicky on her first group run session!
It gave James the chance to get a taste of runleading, having almost finished his training.
After a chat we tooled up and set of on a run to one of our usual hotspots for a litterpick - stopping more rubbish fouling nature. Skipping Redbridge roundabout the second part of this evenings session was on the other side of the A12, where we could have easily spend all evening and still not get halfway up the road, so much rubbish accumulated in the undergrowth 😔
As so often we lost track of time a little, so ended up only doing 2.5km to be back at base on time - fingers crossed more of a run next time.
P.S.... the title is referring to the MacDonalds meal rubbish we found, receipt showing it came from just outside Newcastle to be dumped in Redbridge...

Vicky earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Vicky completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Vicky was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

It was a game of three parts at Frenford Foodbank today. We started off clearing out the store room so we could give it a much overdue spring clean. Ed moved on to counting up how much we had on the shelves so the task owner can put a supermarket order in. Helena got stuck in to putting the donations on the shelves.
Sending out a big welcome to Vicky who completed her first GGR mission today 🥳 Helena wasted no time in showing her the ropes and they both did a fabulous job.
Meanwhile Peter and Linda embarked on the task of bleaching down the shelves in the storeroom with the help of some soggy cloths and a temperamental pressure washer. It definitely looked and smelled a lot better out there by the time we were done.
Three good jobs done in one session. 🥳🥳🥳
