it was our first visit to a brand new task last night- at the amazing Abbey community centre. This community hub in the middle of Victoria offers support, meals, advice and classes to everybody in the local area from babies to the elderly. It was established in 1948 and works with local organisations that share ethics, values and pa assion for social justice. As we walked through the busy, happy building we had a glimpse of the activities happening to improve the heath and wellbeing of vulnerable residents by promoting community and togetherness.

We were led through the huge maze like building - interestingly it used to be a Victorian bathhouse - to find the hidden gem of a therapy garden. Our job for the evening was to plant 11 big terracotta pots full of spring flowers, including iris, tulips and hyacinths. It was a very soothing task enhanced by the music from the dance class happening in the room right by us. We watered them all in - and cant wait to see how they brighten up the area come spring! We'll be back at the centre next month for our regular visit to work in the garden.

Next week we're back to the oldest youth club in the world - hope to see you there!
