Beth, JP and I made it out of bed on a Sunday morning (despite a hangover for some of us) to complete a special delivery. A la Father Christmas, although our flyers were paper versions rather than reindeer, we took to the local roads to drop important pamphlets through our neighbours doors to spread the word about a charity Christmas tree collection.

Shooting Stars Hospice supports terminally ill babies, children and teenagers (alongside their families). The hospice offers invaluable support from diagnosis to end of life. Especially at Christmas, when times can be so challenging for these kids and their families.

The Hospice plans a Christmas tree collection for the new year, and will collect old fir trees to be recycled appropriately, for a small charity donation. A tree-mendous cause - two birds with one stone and all that, as people will be keeping the streets clean and disposing of their trees plus helping out a worthwhile cause.

Yule be pleased to know that all our leaflets went out to homes in the local area, in time for the new year.

Great effort from the team, and the hard work paid off, as we also got to see some cute cats, some musical doormats and some decorated flats.

Shooting Star Children’s Hospices cares for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families, across west London and Surrey.

Shooting Star Children’s Hospices cares for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families, across west London and Surrey. We’re here to make every moment count, whether lives are measured in days, weeks, months, or years. We support families from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional, and medical care. Our specialist care and support is free of charge and available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We support around 500 babies, children, or young adults who have a life-limiting condition and their families, as well as around 200 bereaved families. It costs £10 million a year to run Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, so we rely on the generosity of our supporters to keep our services going.
