Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Jade
Another task today showcasing that Goodgym Merton is almost ready to be switched on, providing last minute support to Sustainable Merton at the Greener Living pop-up market in partnership with Elys Wimbledon.
We were able to cover a volunteer who was MIA by stepping in to direct shoppers up to the 3rd floor location of the market. This seemed to make a real difference to increasing the numbers venturing up to take a look, just in those couple of hours.
Afterwards it was great chatting to the entrepreneurs who were there selling their sustainable items. Some of these beautiful items are likely to be on sale at the next event in Wimbledon, planned for November - and it's likely Goodgym will be asked to help out again.
If you are in the area or passing through keep an eye out for this and more tasks but in the meantime please spread the word and encourage anyone in Merton who might be interested to sign up with Goodgym and help with increasing the numbers of volunteers/members. We still need a couple of Taskforce in order to officially launch so hoping it won't be long.
As Merton's local environmental charity, we aim to inspire, mobilise and enable our community to take action on climate change and protect our environment for future generations. Sustainability and wellbeing go hand in hand, so our projects address both environmental and social goals, such as addressing the cost of living crisis and strengthening community connections. We believe that a happier, healthier, more connected community is one that will have the greatest impact.
