A Good Start!
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Leicester.

This was both myself and Jimmy's first GoodGym mission run so the title refers both to our first steps into mission running and also to the the fact that we made a good start on Mr D's garden.
I met Jimmy near his house and he had mapped out a scenic 5K run to our mission venue taking in the lovely Weston park ont he way. This gave us plenty of time to get to know each other before the hard work started.
On arriving at our mission we found there was lots to do with both Mr D's front drive needing weeding and his back garden in urgent need of attention. We started on the drive and after an hour and a half of hard work we had it looking ship-shape leaving us another half an hour to work our magic on the back garden. We weeded, tided and generally made the place easier to move around. There was more to do than we could manage in the time we had but both Jimmy and I felt an enormous sense of satisfaction from our effort and Mr D certainly seemed delighted with what we had done.
That just left the 5km run back to Jimmy's with enough time for a bit more of a chat.
All in all a great experience shared with a lovely chap. Hats off to Jimmy he had already run 10k in the morning so that was over 20k for the day with 2 hours hard graft thrown in for good measure.
I bet you slept well mate!
