This week 15 GoodGym runners headed out on the short run to Hollybush Estate. We met Mags who talked us thorugh the teo main tasks for the evening...moving and spreading mulch in the nature reserve area and then clearing a load of wood and branches from the 'Rocky Garden'. After 40 minutes of hard week and the jobs completed to satisfaction we headed out for some faster running, urban style, on locals roads.
After a block of public humiliation (sorry, running drills) we completed some paired parlauf relays on the estate before moving onto to do some short fast relay intervals mixed with quad and glute conditioning exercises.
After a short jog back to base we stretched and headed into the night. it was great to hear from Margaret about the impact of the work we do in keeping the estates green spaces going. These spaces are used to provided fresh food for over 100 residents via the local food bank and we are also still waiting to hear if the estate as won a Britain in Bloom prize...super exciting!
It was also great to see a few new faces, we hope you come again...it was great to have you along!
