Aisle never tyre of these wheelie good shopping missions
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Ealing.
- Saturday, 25th of April 2020
Today I did some shopping for Mr and Mrs R. They have been shielding for a little over a month and haven’t had anyone to get them food since they had a food box at the beginning of lockdown. Being vegetarians who eat some fish not being able to go out for food because Mr R has a condition has really impacted them both. So much so they have been managing on cans of soup and have both lost weight.
Mr R had a shopping list ready for me, carefully wrapped up with cash and some shopping bags. As they used to shop in Ealing before the lockdown they were a little worried they didn’t know the shops nearby to suggest where to go. I’d been on a couple of missions in the area so decided to head off for the little Sainsbury’s and Tesco. Before I did Mr R was wheelie keen I took their shopping trolley with me for the heavier items.
The local stores once again did the job, ticking off all the items on the list I headed back with the trolley laden with essentials. No need for upper body strength on this mission!
Mr and Mrs R couldn’t have been more grateful for the help when I arrived back with the little trolley full. A Saturday morning well spent, roll on the next one!
