All stuck in at...
6 GoodGymers made their way 3.3km to help the Thames Landscape Strategy in Richmond.
- Monday, 23rd of May 2022
- Led by Sam Jones
Sam led us on a gentle 2km run along the River Thames on Monday night after warming up on Richmond Green. Seven runners then all met at Chitty Hole in Petersham to help keep the brambles under control on Petersham Meadows by the hedgerow for dog walkers and pedestrians. We met with Ken and got stuck in digging the huge root bulbs out with spades and mattocks while some fetched buckets of water to water in the trees we planted in the winter as part of the hedgerow we laid. We were working under the brow of Richmond Hill in an idyllic romantic British landscape that was like a setting for a Constable Painting. After 45 minutes of feverish hard work rooting out the bramble roots we set off on the run back to Richmond.
