Ashley and Tracey have a friendly mask off
4 GoodGymers made their way 3.0km to help their local community in Derby.
- Tuesday, 26th of April 2022
- Led by Rachel Carthy
Ashley, Gwyn , Tracey and Rachel met in Derby city centre and litter picked along a route to St Joseph's Roman Catholic Church on Burton Road.
Lots of food packaging was collected in the city centre along with lots of cans and empty bottles along Burton Road. The team of volunteers covered just over 2 miles and filled 4 bin bags with litter. Ashley and Tracey had a friendly competition of who could collect the most discarded masks, Ashley remains our mask spotter champion and even went in Tesco to collect one from the windowsill - what dedication.
The team have lots planned over the weekend including a trip to the opera and some more GoodGym volunteering, lots to catchup on at the next weekly session on Tuesday 3rd May when the team will be at Derby's River Gardens to clean up the steps ready for an influx of visitors over the summer.
Thanks to everyone who could make it.
