Bamboo-zled
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Windsor and Maidenhead.

Rachel and Sheila made a return visit to Ms S - as ever, she was very pleased to see us. The recent death of a friend has really set her back, and her small courtyard garden had got a bit out of control. The hydrangeas were blocking her path, and she dearly wanted some space in which to sit, relax, and enjoy her oasis of a garden. Sheila set about cutting the hydrangeas back, and saving the blooms so she could put them in a vase and enjoy them inside. Rachel cleared the area around the table, removing any pots with dead plants, and saving any with flowers. A good sweep with the broom, and the area looked really inviting. Meanwhile Ms S was potting up some of the flowers into bigger pots. By the time we had filled two big bags with weeds and prunings, and disposed of them in the green bin, we had earned ourselves one of Ms S's special mugs of tea, wonderfully complemented by some home-made cakes - thanks, Rachel! Then it was time to clear up and Ms S threw away a whole load of old pots, which will give her more space. We said our goodbyes, and Ms S was looking forward to settling down with a good book in her new space. We cycled home again, taking the scenic route along the Jubilee River in the sunshine. Wonderful!
