Blythe (Hill Fields) Indifference to the Scorching Sun
2 GoodGymers made their way to help the Friends of Blythe Hill Fields in Lewisham.
- Sunday, 1st of July 2018
- Led by Adele Prince
On another scorching morning, Jacqueline and Emma met at the pinnacle of Blythe Hill Fields to help the Friends of Blythe Hill Fields set up for their annual festival.
Decked out in sportswear, we were allocated the sweatiest tasks going, including moving tables and lugging crates of cans. Sweaty tasks swiftly completed, we graduated on to tasks with a little more finesse: tying the bow required for the Mayor of Lewisham to cut at the ping pong table’s official opening ceremony, decking out the main stage with the Friends of Blythe Hill Fields banner, and liberally sprinkling the festival with bunting!
We took a little time out after the mission to taste-test all of the delicious food that was on offer, whilst deciding what to purchase later that afternoon when the festival was in full swing.
We said hello to some fellow Lewisham Goodgymers who were enjoying the festival, as well as our friends from Seniors, and Big Gay Al who was selling his boozy marmalade in support of Wildcat Wilderness... An all round local-tastic morning mission in Lewisham!
