Rain or shine we gather at Glass Mill or in the case of this week, it was me accidentally hiding the listing but we still gathered!
In a nice change of pace, the whole group walked to the task and I have to say I did enjoy it.
We arrived at RUSS to the sound of gravel being moved and banging, at first we were unable to locate the source thinking it was on the roof but then we found Steve and the RUSS team who were giving us instructions for the task.
We had one group digging up the stones and another weeding the flower beds. We made such a difference in a short space of time!
Off to Mamma Dough for a post-group run social, Vic had been dreaming of that pizza since we arrived at Glass Mill!
We were also celebrating Matt's 100th good deed - congratulations Matt, it's a pleasure to have you along to the group runs and you always get stuck into the tasks! We look forward to the next 100!!

This weeks Parkrun volunteering takes me to Whitstable to marshal to ensure participants didn’t accidentally fall down the gap!

Was it the potential to see trains, was it that everyone liked the sound of moving compost, was it the fact we haven't been to that task for ages? Whatever everyone's reasons, it was wonderful to have such a big group.
I left the group at Glass Mill to jump on the bus and we all reconvened at Crofton Park Railway Garden including those that were meeting us there. It was perfect timing!
We managed to fit lots of tasks for everyone to get stuck into including moving the shed which I think had been on their to do list for quite a while. Well done!
We also sorted the compost pile, swept the woodchippings back to where they belong, litter picked and watered the plants!! A lot of tasks done in 45min.
Great work team for getting stuck in and getting the tasks done.

You’ll find a lovely Parkrun with even lovelier volunteers!
Continuing my volunteering whilst my ankle heals, this week I was doing my new favourite task of timekeeping! Only 1 minor mistake made, had to get that out of the way at some point.
It was a great to bump into a familiar face of Conroy also.

In a change to normal proceedings at TRAID, this week we were hanging clothes rather than taking them down!
Jenny and Marta tackled the women's clothes, taking them out of the big cages and hanging them on the rails ready to be priced up and wheeled into the shop.
Julian and I had the same task with children's clothes but then we also got given the added responsibility of using an implement to tag the clothes of which our brains could not fathom the engineering behind it and then we got to stick the stickers on the tags!
It was a good excuse to catch up whilst doing a good deed. There's another session on Tuesday!
