The good people of Brompton Bikes gathered on a damp morning, unfolded their bikes and followed me off down the Grand Union Canal. Our ride alongside the canal was peaceful as we headed for Horsenden Farm. The task for the morning was to cut back and clear one metre of ground alongside a fence for the Friends of Horsenden Hill, dig a trench, and move wood chip and fertiliser across the farm to add to the trench. 10 sets of muddy feet and hands made light work of this in the spring drizzle and we were able to see hedge planted where previously there was undergrowth - very satisfying indeed! Bikes were once again unfolded and we headed back down the canal to Brompton HQ - nice work!
