She/her
10 GG Yorkies dug out more of our big trench at St Nicks
We're part of St Nick's experimental engineering branch and we carried on digging out our trench which finally had made it below the level of the footpath from which water will drain, yay!
The difficulty level of this particular task increased as we hit the bottom of the nice topsoil and found the top of the rubbley landfill.
We sent Ed in on several occasions armed with a mattock to break up the hard stuff so we could dig it out.
Can I borrow your Ed torch?!
Mitch and Emily took barrowfuls of the good soil to another area of the reserve where it would be more useful and team Griff disappeared for a while in the darkness to rake out bags of soil we'd dug up last week.
Tomorrow the plan is to keep working on the trench but we'll have to do a LOT more mattocking and pickaxing to break up the rocks and stone, so we'll be wearing safety goggles!
