4 GoodGymmers met up at Sundon Park Baptist Church to help with the regular Singing Café. Abim, Musa and Charmaine had things well underway by the time Gill arrived. And after a brief chat Gill was ready to help greet the guests and get to know them. There’s a real family feel at the Café and it was lovely to mingle amongst them and talk to them bout their week. Gill was soon happily singing along to some golden oldies with one of the guests, Rob and his family, and we all chuckled as Charmaine started to do the Lambeth Walk across the hall. It’s always lovely help alongside volunteers from the church who make this a really sociable event, and today was no different. We helped guests choose their food and served them drinks. Musa did a brilliant job of collecting empty plates and cups and getting ready for the washing up. Abim gave a warm welcome as people arrived throughout the morning, moving furniture to make sure everyone had a place to sit with people they knew. And as the morning wore on and the singalong turned to some dance tracks you couldn’t keep Gill back from leading a couple of the guests in the Cha Cha Slide. What a fabulous morning! Happy guests and happy GoodGymers. Great start to the weekend 😃
