Curtain Call
3 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Lewisham.
- Thursday, 15th of February 2018
It was a clear black night, a clear white moon Conroy and Neil is on the streets, heading to Mr H to go and fix his curtain that had fallen down about three weeks ago, to give him some privacy from the preying eyes of the passers walking down his street. Knock on the door it was opened up by Mr H himself looking somewhat confused as he was expecting two ladies to come and do the job. Without missing a beat we introduced ourselves. Right on cue Mr H ushered us into his front room where laying on the floor was the curtain that need us to us to regulate. We went to the shed got the ladder with Neil being a good sport supporting the ladder so that I wouldn’t fall. I climbed up the ladder and began tackling the task at hand while Mr H relaxed in his arm chair watching and chatting to us as we tend to the job on hand.
Ding dong the door bell sounded who could that be, I looked out the window and it was Nykolette coming to check on us as she had promised her coach she would. We pushed and pulled as we fed the rod through the brackets being very careful not to break any. A few bangs and screw the curtain rail was up looking very secure, we rehung the curtains, while Mr H and Nykolette looked on with with glee in their eyes as myself and Neil had done a good job, feeling very pleased with our handy work we put the ladder back in the shed and cleared up our work area before bidding farewell to Mr H.
