On a grey Wednesday afternoon, 3 GoodGymmers came along to help York Greenways prepare the side of a cycle path for wildflowers.

We met Peter, the task owner, by the van and he gave us our brief - we were to strip the side of the path of brambles, drag them to the top of a bank forming a 'habitat' (nobody was sure what it was a habitat for, so almost definitely goblins). Alistair nimbly removed the remaining brambles, and Clair swiftly got them dragged up the bank.

At this point I was tasked with running down to the Solar System Cycleway, somewhere between Mercury and Venus, to pop a new tree guard on a damaged tree - despite much pacing and gently asking the tree to come forward, I couldn't find it 🤦🏻‍♂️

But we were soon done with these tasks, and the botanical leads from Greenways suggested we could spend the remainder of the session removing moss from the bank, so that their next trip of scattering wildflower seeds can be a bit more effective. We made a decent start on this, while chatting lots about Kate Moss, and soon finished up and headed off.

Mission accomplished.
