Feeling a bit weedy
5 GoodGymers made their way to help the Hilsea Lido in Portsmouth.

Five Goodgymers met up at Hilsea Lido on a sunny Saturday morning to lend a hand with the ongoing upkeep of our beloved Lido. Today saw Mel, Maxine and Nick continue with the clearing out and tidying of a room to allow a workbench to be moved inside - lots of bins bags appeared and smiles of achievement! Katie helped measure up window frames for replacement panes to repair vandalism damage. Then all change and Maxine, Katie and Mel cleared the paving between the Lido and the Wakeboard park of weeds. Nick did a sterling job scooping up bucketfuls of stinky murky algae (and all kinds of wiggly pond creatures and mosquito larvae) from the pool - definitely the winner of "see where you have been" award! Kat took on the weeding on the main hard standing around the pool and then couldn't help her engineer brain from leaning into try and help get the pool pump up and running. Discussions around the future plans to drain, clean and repaint the pool mean this won't be the last opportunity to help this great venue - keep an eye out for more community missions here.

I love combining exercise with doing good with Goodgym. Add to that, we are able to do it by the seaside and that's close to being perfect!
