First time doing good and getting fit with GoodGym
2 GoodGymers made their way 3.0km to help their local community in Derby.

Luis joined a GoodGym Derby session for the first time and took on the challenge of litter picking in the city centre. The route was due to take in Burton Road but on the night volunteers chose to stay in the city centre and areas Luis knew. Just over 2.5km was walked in the sunshine whilst Luis found out about GoodGym and the sort of sessions volunteers go on to help out in the community.
Luis was given a litter picker (no demo required) and got straight to work picking up cans, bottles, food packaging and flyers. He had a great technique for stickers that were pretty grounded and for smaller items like coffee stirrers.
Luis has been looking to get involved with volunteering that gives him the opportunity to meet new people he can chat to and feel he's making a positive difference in the community. Hopefully Luis will be back for future sessions as he loves being outdoors and connecting with nature, he now knows about upcoming sessions like cleaning the steps at the River Gardens to improve some of Derby's outdoor spaces.
Sadly only one photo as there was lots of talking along with multi-tasking using a litter picker and holding the bin bag.
Thanks Luis for helping clean the streets of Derby and bringing so much 'positive energy' to your first GoodGym session!
