Flowers in the Wine-dow
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Wandsworth.
- Wednesday, 24th of March 2021
I was on annual leave, so when the ‘last chance to help’ email came out, I couldn’t stop myself from signing up to help out Ms K. I could make it a little detour on my way to meet a friend.
Having completed shopping tasks for Ms K before, I gave her a call and she had a short but certain list - three bottles of wine, a ready meal and a little plant to give as a present to her friend.
I found a lovely little indoor flower pot for her to gift her friend, and the Spag Bol dinner. So now onto the wine aisle. Two bottles of Ms K’s favourite Pinot Grigio went in, and then a slightly cheaper bottle for the third, to keep it under the £20 limit.
Ms K was pleased with the beautiful flower, and the fuchsia shade matched the jumper she was wearing. ‘It was fate!’, she told me, and in exchange for her shopping she gave me a cheque payable to The GoodGym. We wished each other well, and I cycled off through the Common to carry on with my day.
