19 wonderful runners ran 5km to post flyers for the Mini Marathon!
Another Wednesday done and dusted and another good deed in the bag! In attempt to hype up for the London Marathon on Sunday we kicked things off by talking about our favourite London landmarks. We are pretty lucky here in London aren't we, SO many to choose from, a lot of them all being right here on our doorstep too. Made me realise there are still a few of the "big ones" that I've not even been to myself!
Anyway, we got going shortly after with a little warm up jog and some burpees thrown in for good measure. Then we split off into two groups to be as efficient as possible with our leaflet delivery! Ben took his crew up towards Maze Hill and I took my lot through Pulin's favourite landmark, the Greenwich Foot Tunnel! And lucky for him he got to go through it 4 times yesterday, once to come to GoodGym, a second time to go flyering, a third time to come back to the uni and a fourth time to go home! Top day for him!
We had A LOT of leaflets to get through last night. 40 minutes later we reconvened at the university, with just a few left to spare, a success in my book!
The night ended with some core work in partners on the grass. With a few minutes left on the clock we finished by doing my new favourite thing, the four leaf clover game! We partnered up and took it in turns to run a leaf of the clover, while one person runs, the other one rests and the distance is long enough to get rather out of breath with a few sharp turns to help with agility and ankle strength! NICE WORK EVERYONE!!!
Just a few reminders for some things I mentioned yesterday....
LONDON MARATHON CHEER POINT - we will be outside Sainsbury's Local on Creek Road (just after mile 7) from around 9.30am on Sunday to support the amazing marathon runners! Join us if you can, it will be so much fun!!
FUN RUN COMMUNITY MISSION - volunteers needed to help with marshalling for a 5k family fun run on Blackheath. Numbers need to be confirmed by the end of the month so sign up now if you're keen!
Great work shifting so many leaflets last night everyone! Hopefully the event will have a few new sign ups over the next couple of days! See you hopefully Sunday with your loudest cheering voices, if not then next week!
