Our monthly session with the Friends of Danson Park is usually a good workout, and this morning was no exception.
We got active shoveling woodchips into barrows and wheeling them to the North Woodland Walk. There we raked them along the path to prevent a mudfest in the winter months. šŖšŖšŖ
Our youngest GoodGymers helped us cover an impressive length of the walk. Then it was time to enjoy a hot drink kindly provided by The Stables.
The Friends are taking a break in December but we'll be back in January to tackle the rest of the path.

Tonight we were leafleting for Age Exchange's Christmas fair alongside promoting GoodGym!
We started out by sharing our responses to Trump's election victory which ranged from sticking fingers in our ears and going la la la la laaaaa and mine which was a compiled video of my three year old whining 'I don't like Donald Trump on 20 different occassions.'
Tonight was special for two reasons- the twins were back in Greenwich! AND we were marking Marta's mammoth 800th good deed!
That's 800 times she's... donned some gloves to do planting and pruning, or gained some guns from digging šŖš¼ or avoided the dogs while leafleting, or got splattered from painting, or filled a bin liner litter picking, or put ceiling panels up after guilding.
In short, she done a lot of stuff! š š
After securing the sash of glory on a well deserving Marta, we had a quick round of Simon says and ran up the hill to split into 2 groups and dashed round the streets posting as many leaflets as we could. And quick work we made of it too, with lots of good GoodGym chats on our way. Another task complete and one step closer to Marta's 1000th which she'll probably achieve in the next couple of years!
Nice work team. Next week we're weeding at Charlton URC.
Until next time!

As the original task was cancelled last minute due to unforeseen circumstances, we headed down from Tree Tops Close to the Scout Hut anyway.
It was a lovely evening for a litter pick instead and there was plenty of litter to be picked! We headed back up the hill and soon had two full bags of rubbish.
We ran the rest of the way back, approximately 4k in total.
A big welcome to Kalpana who completed her first good deed tonight!
Well done everyone!
This run, along with many other GoodGym runs this week, supported This Girl Can's #LifttheCurfew campaign.
Now it's getting dark earlier many people change their fitness routine because they don't feel safe exercising in the dark.
Our run was part of a nationwide lobby for change.

What a beautiful morning to spend time with friends doing some good! Perhaps, said Jenny, it's natures way of easing us into the winter months now the clocks have gone back āļø
After a morning where some of the team helped out with Junior Parkrun, getting very soggy socks and having a very quick tea at my flat, we joined forces and gave a welcome to Chloe for her first good deed, and Calvin who came back for more after joining the run on Wednesday! Really great to have you guys join us š
We shared our favourite cakes and then played a game of under and over before setting off on our 3.5km run to Mycenae Gardens.
And this was an extra special session because it was GoodGym's power couple Sarah's 350th and Johnny's 450th AND Marta's 800th! That's a lot of goodness they've brought to London - just think how many brambles they've taken out, how much litter they've picked and how many little hands they've high fived in that time! Absolutely amazing.
At Mycenae today we split into teams, one for weeding and the other for lopping branches off trees and dragging the branches down to the much loved dead hedge to keep curious children out of the wildlife protection area. Many hands make light work and before long we were packing up and having a lovely cake provided by the Friends.
All topped off with a lovely local coffee.
Excellent job team! Thanks to Calvin for the pics. On wednesday we're joining with GoodGym Bexley.
Until next time!

Tonight, the mission of 7 GoodGym-ers was delivering flyers through letterboxes, for Woolwich Food Cycle, a project helping volunteers turn food donated by local shops & businesses into delicious healthy meals for those in the community who most need them.
Special shout out to Calvin who did his first good deed this evening - it was great to have you with us Calvin and hope you'll be back soon!
We started with a wistful discussion over our favourite holiday destinations before making our way through Charlton Park and on to the Woolwich Common estate, where our task began. Our tag delivery teams quickly ran out of leaflets, admiring the houses along the way (GoodGym is great for discovering new places on your doorstep!). As always we were ready for further adventures so completed the task with a quick litter pick (thanks to Rachel for bringing the litter pick stash!).
Hope to see you all soon - next week we're teaming up with Bexley š
