From Wagon Train to Silver Line
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Windsor and Maidenhead.
- Sunday, 15th of October 2023
Mrs S was in good spirits this week. She had spoken to her daughter in the week so that had cheered her up.
After our trip down memory lane last week I hadnt been able to find what I was looking for in terms of old film posters/stills so I took the film pages out of the TV guide with me to ask her about some of the older films that were being screened. It turns out she is a huge fan of Westerns.
She regaled me with her tales of Saturday mornings spent at the Windsor Playhouse with her 2 shillings from her Mum. She also used to visit the other two cinemas in Windsor every week so no wonder she is a film buff and has a font of film knowledge.
When I reported back to GG Mission Control, last week, about Mrs S's loneliness they signposted me to the Silver Line, a 24/7 phone line for the elderly so I printed out the phone number and left it with her as I left and suggested she call them for a chat next time she feels lonely.

Great idea to look in the TV guide for inspiration. Also glad that your follow up from last visit lead to a positive suggestion. I hope Mrs S does call them x
