Game, Set and Matchstick
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Lewisham.

Wow it’s warm! On the face of it, it seemed a shame to have an indoor task on such a wonderfully sunny morning. However, Miss S hasn’t been able to open her balcony doors at all during this sweltering week due to an insecure curtain rail.
After a quick inspection of the curtain rail and its fixings, we soon realised that the screws had come loose over the years, causing the instability. With just limited tools and an array of common household objects to hand, an ingenious tip from Samuel meant we were well set.
By putting matchsticks into the holes which had worn away and caused the screws to come loose (removing the dangerous end first of course!) we were able to fit the screws back into the same, now tighter, holes and secure the curtain rail.
We opened the curtains with a successful, secure flourish which allowed Miss S to open her balcony doors for sorely sought after fresh air and a spot of sunshine. A job well done!
