Two GG Yorkies ran to New Earswick to pick up some homemade cards, and deliver them to Ways to Wellbeing in the centre of York.
Ways to Wellbeing helps isolated older people to raise their confidence and self esteem by enabling them to to volunteer. Mrs X has been putting her crafty card making skills to use to make greetings cards to sell for charity. She needed us to help her take the finished product back to base.
We met at the end of the street (after I failed to chase down speedy Nikki when I caught sight of her a mile back) to face our first challenge of finding which house it was. The numbering didn't seem that logical! Fortunately Mrs X had just had a visitor who took us into the house:
Your runners are here!
Mrs X handed over the goods and offered us some gratefully received water while we had a look at her handy work. There were cards for all occasions - including Christmas! After a quick chat, we embarked on the second part of our journey. Nikki, who had sneaked out on her lunch break, ran half the way into town with me, before getting on her bike to race back to work.
I ran the final mile, weaving between hoards of tourists to deliver the cards to their city centre destination.
It's a bit hot for running (passer by)
With the cards delivered, all that remained was to walk home because it was indeed a 'bit' hot for running.

It was also Nikki's 50th good deed. How could I forget to mention that?! Well done Nikki!
