Going to the wire?
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Wandsworth.
- Wednesday, 10th of July 2024
As I cycled over to Mrs D’s on a grey and muggy morning there were plenty of England flags on display and poking out of car windows.
It remains to be seen how England men’s team will play tonight, or whether they’ll take it to the wire as they did in the last two games. Mrs D’s garden was also coming up against the strimmer wire today, slightly more convincing than the last two strimmers I’ve encountered and only two breaks in play to dismantle and get it going again.
Just as the saying goes, this mission was like a game of two halves. The first half being prepping the ground and clearing away unwanted bind weed, brambles and other thick rooted weeds that threatened to overwhelm the strimmer. Half of the garden which forms an L shape round Mrs D’s house completed today. A replay will be needed, for a dry day soon.
Time will tell if England will manage to finish the job tonight in just the two halves tonight.

Nice work Michelle, especially if you've been wielding one of those dodgy strimmers!
