GoodGym grudge match ⚽
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Wandsworth.
- Sunday, 13th of May 2018
On the last day of the Premier League season, and with hundreds of GoodGymmers at an away fixture in Bucharest, two of us met for a 9am kick-off to face down the front and back gardens for our host in SW18...
After the recent spate of fair weather, the lawns had sprung up knee-high with a veritable meadow of grasses, weeds and wild flowers. Amy had visited on a GG Mission before, so she knew exactly what to do, and our host beamed seeing a familiar friendly face!
It was GoodGym vs. the two gardens, but we had a ringer on our team - 240v of Swedish talent - “Flymo.” After a quick change of the blade, it roared to life and made light work of everything before it, leaving us to just tidy-up the edges with the shears.
90 minutes later, with the front and back done, and two black bags full for the compost, we blew the whistle for full-time and were on our way.
