Great British Rake Off
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Wandsworth.
- Saturday, 2nd of September 2017
On this Saturday morning, Sarah decided that a 5k parkrun wasn't enough. So straight after her run, she met with me in Streatham to give a hand to Ms B. whose garden hadn't been maintained for a long while. After being shown where the tools were, I started tackling the lawn mowing job while Sarah started clearing the garden of the weeds that had reached some incredible heights, making them really hard to be pulled out. After a good solid hour of hard work, the grass was cut and the weeds were gone. Really glad (read embarrassed) that Sarah was there to show me how to use an adjustable lawn rake as otherwise I would probably still be there trying to rake with a collapsed rake :-)) By the end, we'd filled three large bags which Sarah moved out to the front of the house.
We left happy to think Ms B. would finally be able to make use of her garden and do simple things like hanging her washing out.
