GymBusters
21 GoodGymers made their way 5.0km to help their local community in Westminster.
- Wednesday, 18th of February 2015
The team tonight was ready and raring to go after a beautiful sunny day! We weaved through busy Oxford Street and through the black hole of Green Park after dark to arrive at…a gym?
Not your average gym, however, as it’s located in the oldest Youth Club in the world, St Andrew’s Club.
Adrian, the Deputy Manager and life-long member of the club introduced us to the task of the evening.
The donated weights and machines are used regularly by a huge number of people a majority of which are young people from the local area;
Due to them constantly being is use the equipment had gotten a little bit mucky.
It was up to our enthusiastic GoodGymmers to spray, wipe, dust and generally give everything a good clean – making the gym look sparkling for its re-opening next week.
We were then treated to five minutes off as we were given the grand tour (it really was bigger on the inside!) before heading back out to run back to base; Cory cheering us on all the way.
