Helping at St John’s
7 GoodGymers made their way to help their local community in Camden.
- Sunday, 19th of July 2020
- Led by Sally
Seven enthusiastic goodgymmers, including Clancy on her first gg task, came along for our second visit to St John's church to help out in the community garden.
On arrival, Alex, the volunteer coordinator, explained the various tasks and everyone set to work.
Danny did some serious litter picking, filling numerous bags. Rachel focused on weeding the flowerbeds and planted many bulbs. Paul worked with another Paul and built a composting bin out of pallets. The rest of the group set about clearing an area of nettles, brambles and ragwort.
After a couple of hours, we said our goodbyes and went our separate ways.
Well done everyone, thanks for coming along.

Thank you so much Sally and everyone. So nice to be made so welcome - and even nicer to be able to make a difference. I never thought digging out bramble roots could be so rewarding. What Alex and friends are doing in the church grounds is lovely. I didn't know you could make such great compost bins from pallets.
It was great to meet you Clancy, hopefully we’ll see you again soon at another task.
Lovely report Sally! Thanks for organising :)
