'Hold it, screw it and see what happens'
4 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Westminster.
- Saturday, 2nd of May 2015
On Saturday morning Alex, Amanda, Beth and Steve met in Maida Vale to give Mrs L a hand.
The boys were tasked with tidying up the garden, bagging branches and giving the place a good sweep which they did with ease. Washing the walls turned out to be a bit more taxing, with a hose that refused to fit on the tap they had to resort to the 'throw a bucket of water at the wall' approach which Alex didn't excelled at, managing to throw far more water straight up in the air than on the wall. With the windows cleaned too, Mrs L now has a clearer view of her much longed for garden and her adorable dogs, have a safer place to roam around and protect from the local cats.
The girls were given the task of trying to get things a bit more organised in the bedroom. What started as mix of everything together in boxes and bags still unpacked from when Mrs L moved in became a bit more ordered once we were done. We weren't able to finish the job, and never did find the elusive stash of trousers, but with things a bit more accessible, hopefully Mrs L will be reunited with them at some point soon.
After the work was done we shared a sandwich and a chat and bid Mrs L a happy birthday before we all went on our way and Amanda went home to do some unpacking of her own.
