We only had one shift at Southsea Medical centre today and Eli, John, Jo and Vicki arrived ready to start at 4. Eli and Jo hadn’t see the new setup so after a quick walkthrough of the new layout we were placed in the waiting room.
We had been asked by Emma if we could ‘handle this’ at the start which prompted Eli to sing lines from Bootylicious by Destiny’s Child which was then followed by Kung Fu Fighting.
John and Vicki were the welcoming party at the front door where John would ask the questions and Vicki would take the temperatures. We had a steady stream of patients which was a contrast from the previous day when it was really busy.
Eli took over the temperature readings when Vicki took over the checking in of patients. Vicki changed her face mask to a shield and battled with the task of placing her glasses on under the shield for when she needed to read the screen. Watching her with a cup of coffee and the shield was also quite amusing.
We had a ‘leaf’ blow in which was going to make the title of the report ‘Unbeleafable’ but is it a leaf? We also decided whether the yellow and black tape on the floor is in fact yellow and black or whether it’s pink and blue depending on who looks at it.
As it got quieter we got excited when we had anther patient come in and we resumed positions ready to welcome them.
We enjoyed some pizza that Carole had kindly ordered and we left early just after 7 as there were only a handful of patients yet to arrive.
