You need two persons to replace the only Tom Craggs.

Unfortunately Tom was not able to be present for Monday's group run, So instead Will and myself were trying to do our best to replace him for one night! We also give a warm and nice welcome to Ellie which will be the new GoodGym Trainer of Brent! Bienvenue comme on dit chez moi!

Tonight the task was to clear leaf from the garden of Hollybush Estate Community Centre which was also the starting point of tonight. After a short jog around the building to warm our body, we had 45 mins to clear the whole garden, it takes us 20 mins to clear every leaf. And, at Goodgym we don't waste 25 mins of good work, so we run to another garden of the community centre and we clear this one as well. Good Job!

Then we head of to Bethnal Green Gardens to do a nice running exercise the 30/30 designed by a French, of course!

The workout Billat's 30-30, named after its creator, Veronique Billat, an exercise physiologist at the University of Lille in France.

The exercise is simple run at a really hard pace for 30 secs and take an easy jog for 30 secs, and we did it 6 times! After that, Pritesh was almost not able to do his speech of social sec for Christmas parties.

We then jog back to the starting point, stretch and head of the pub!

Thanks every one to let me speak freely with my French accent.

Axel.

Here is the report of Pritesh:

December is here! On a chilly Monday night Goodgym Tower Hamlets met at the Hollybush Community Centre to get two tasks done. With Tom off sick, we had the joint leadership of Axel and Will who got the group together and ready to go. Will led a team of 5 off to a mission task with a longer 5k run. The remainder of us stayed with Axel for the task we had at the community centre.

We were joined tonight by Ellie ‘The Sweeper’ Wood who is going to be the new trainer at GG Brent and she led us through some warm up sprints looking at running technique. It’s a very odd sensation trying to pump your arms faster than your legs are going! With those warm up sprints completed we went for a run around the block to get the blood flowing properly and get us ready for the task.

The task today was to help the community centre clear leaves from its grounds which would then be used to create mulch to go back into the garden areas later. We collected tools and gloves and broke into little groups to get all the leaves collected. Despite there being a hefty coverage of leaves we worked quickly and efficiently and got everything done with time to spare! We were therefore able to help clear another part of the estate and after getting that area done we were ready to join up with the other group.

A quick run to the park and we met Will’s group. To ensure that we had got a proper work out Axel decided to lead us in some intervals…30 seconds sprint, 30 seconds very slow jog. We managed six rounds and of this and had got a thorough work out before heading back to base to get a great warm down session from Ellie who showed us some great stretches…tits and teeth anyone?!

It was a great night in Tower Hamlets and feeling like we definitely deserved it a bunch of us headed for a drink afterwards!

Great work everyone, Pritesh

Here is the report of Will for the mission of the night:

5 of us set of separate from the main run to head down the canal to Anna's House. Anna had been organising her house for Christmas and needed some boxes lifted up into her loft and all of her Christmas decorations brought down. We where able to help in no time at all and set off back to Bethnal Green gardens to join the rest of the group for a sprint interval session. The warm down in Hollybush hall was lead by Good Gym's new coach for Brent Ellie and was followed by a short visit to the Seabright Arms pub.
