Leaves of life
12 GoodGymers made their way 8.0km to help their local community in Westminster.
- Wednesday, 20th of January 2016
There were 12 runners eager for Westminster’s good gym on Wednesday. A few, including ourselves were new and nervous, but the pros made the whole experience more fun and put us at ease.
We left central London and headed for Pimlico – dancing around the busy commuters who wanted to get home, but surely were impressed by our enthusiasm and Cory the great leader cheering us on. We passed down New Bond Street, almost getting distracted by the pretty and completely out of our price range clobber in the lovely shops.
We headed to St Saviour’s Church in Pimlico where we picked litter in the gardens and grounds and generally tidied up. En route we had two near miss-haps when newbie Eirian almost stacked it and then Cory the great leader did fall and was more worried about his jacket than his injuries. We took a little short cut on the way home to avoid the busy Victoria area and had a ‘good’ sprint up a hill by Green Park to almost finish us off (thanks Cory)! But in the freezing cold we completed the challenge and everyone finished the 5miles with a smile on their face.
We will definitely be back and look forward to next week’s challenge.
