Let's Make a Scarecrow
1 GoodGymer made their way to help the Nature's Haven Community Healing Garden in Windsor and Maidenhead.

Nature's Haven is taking part in the Scarecrow Trail at Cliveden over Half Term, so we put away our gardening gloves for the week, and raided our kitchen drawes and wardrobes instead. We came armed with an old suit, children's clothes from a charity shop, bags of straw, hay, old bedding, sacks and other bits and bobs. None of us had ever built a scarecrow before, so we were learning as we went along! One team started on the body of the main scarecrow, whilst Sheila and Jayne filled 2 sacks with straw to form 2 heads. They then each took on making a face for each one out of felt and embroidery thread. We ended up with very happy scarecrows! Sheila also had some fun making a hairpiece for the child scarecrow out of wool, who ended up with long, golden plaits. By the end of the session we had most of the structures in place, with a bit of finishing off needed on Saturday. We can't wait to see them on place on the scarecrow trail
