Living life on the hedge
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Lewisham.
- Saturday, 1st of December 2018
It was touch and go as to whether we would actually brave the torrential rain this morning to attempt our mission, but thankfully it dried up just in time!
We were tasked with cutting an 8ft hedge down so it was level with Miss C’s 2ft fence, which seemed an insurmountable task with only two pairs of blunt loppers! We got to it and had soon made a dent in the hedge, enjoying the satisfaction of seeing the progress we were making.
Once we were finished and there was more hedge on the ground in the front garden than there was left on the hedge, we gave it a good trampling down and filled a token couple of bin bags (we would have needed about 50 to bag up all of it!).
Miss C was really pleased with the difference, which will bring more light into her front room, and discourage any pesky burglars.
