Looking forward to my 2nd shift we opened the Church ready for today’s patients. Things were much easier having got used to the process and we had the added benefit of more volunteers arriving, so could double up and act as relief for breaks and taking turns in making a brew. We were given biscuits from one of the patients which was lovely. One of the patients thought that it was a bit of a ‘magical mystery tour’ coming through the church taken across the car park and through the back door into the surgery. We had to send a toilet roll sos which caused much mirth since whatever goes through the walkie talkie can be heard by everyone. We had wives who had lost their husbands (not sure if it was on purpose or not!) Confusion between left and right when arranging re-collection after the vaccine, and lots and lots of compliments on how well organised it was. It was a lively session with much chatter and laughter in the waiting area making it a fun atmosphere and the time flew.
